Aboard MV Fantasea Ammarì

The 60-metre, 32-cabin MV Fantasea Ammarì has begun offering pleasure cruising to the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef and the stunning Whitsunday islands.

MV Fantasea Ammarì is the latest tourism initiative by the Brisbane-based Campbell family through its Riverside Marine Group. The vessel was purchased from its Italian owners last year (2006) and underwent a "refresh" in Brisbane before joining the Fantasea Cruising fleet of vessels in the Whitsundays.

MV Fantasea Ammarì offers 3 or 4 night cruises from Hamilton Island and Daydream Island Resort & Spa - cruises depart on Fridays and return Tuesdays (with option for 3 night returning Mondays). Tariffs start at $1,995 per person (twin share) and include accommodation and meals. Tariffs are based on double/twin share and sole use.

Guests have a choice of three cabin decks which means passengers can be close to the water or close to the stars. The Lighthouse Deck (highest of the cabin decks) is free from public areas and offers a higher level of guest privacy; the Coral Sea Deck (beneath the Lighthouse Deck) has easy access to the Lounge Bar area; and the James Cook Deck (main deck) contains reception, boutique, restaurant and swimming pool.

All of MV Fantasea Ammarì's cabins are fully carpeted and have en-suite facilities. Cabins feature a wardrobe with safety box, flat screen TV, luggage storage and fridge.

Many of MV Fantasea Ammarì's on board activities are included in the price while others are optional extras. Also included in the price are some shore-based activities and unlimited use of snorkelling equipment and kayaks.

MV Fantasea Ammarì also features a lounge bar with dance floor, sun-deck bar, day spa, salon, fitness area, boutique and pool bar.

MV Fantasea Ammarì's cruising itinerary includes visits to icon destinations such as the Reefworld adventure platform at Hardy Reef and the silica sands of Whitehaven Beach as well as other dream locations.
