Getting to MV Fantasea Ammarì from your resort, hotel or airport
MV Fantasea Ammarì departs from
Dent Passage; we transfer you there by private launch on Fantasea Cruisin' from Hamilton Island. Boarding begins from 12:00pm on the day of departure.
Hotels and resorts:
MV Fantasea Ammarì transfers you to and from Fantasea-serviced hotel resorts in comfort aboard one of its high-speed catamarans.
Hamilton Island Airport: Fantasea Ammarì transfers you to and from Hamilton Island airport aboard an air conditioned bus.
Proserpine Airport: MV Fantasea Ammarì can arrange a car service from Proserpine to Shute Harbour; from there we transfer
guests to MV Fantasea Ammarì in comfort aboard one of our high-speed catamarans.
As the most luxurious cruise operator in the Whitsundays, we offer a sophisticated menu for every meal, and the wine list includes a brilliant Australian and international selection.
On making a booking, please let us know if you have any specific dietary needs, or if you wish to celebrate a special occasion with us during your cruise.

All cabins are comfortably equipped, air conditioned and come with ensuite bathroom. Double cabins comfortable sleep two adults. There are 32 cabins on board; 20 x double and 12 x twin. If you require a double bed, please request this on making a booking.


Where a family of four or more or traveling together, we will ensure that cabins are placed next door or opposite to each other. A cot can be provided on request. Guests will receive a complimentary turn down service in the evenings.
What to pack
For safety and comfort on board, we suggest ladies wear flat shoes. It is always advisable to pack your swimwear, a hat, shades and sunscreen. But if you've forgotten these at home, don't worry, our MV Fantasea Ammarì swim wear and sun glasses collection are available from our Boutique!
We like to take care of our guests - complimentary sun screen is provided, as are beach towels.
For evenings we suggest smart, casual wear and a light jacket for cooler nights at sea. While guest laundry services are limited, we will happily take care of any spillages, or quick laundry fixes, no problem! An iron and ironing board are available from Reception for your convenience.
Please be sure to pack any medicine you may require for the journey, we regret we do not have a pharmacy on board.
The Beauty Salon and Spa
Our lovely hair stylist and beauty therapist are available by appointment. We offer a delicious range of massage, aromatherapy and spa treatments using a range of splendid Pevonia products, designed for a full mind and body relaxation experience. Indulge.
 

Snorkelling and dive equipment
MV Fantasea Ammarì provides snorkelling equipment at no cost. There is also an opportunity for guests to scuba dive when we visit Fantasea Reefworld – but please remember, certified divers are kindly requested to bring a certification card.
Shopping and bar charges
All purchases made on board MV Fantasea Ammarì will be charged to your cabin account to be settled prior to disembarking. Payment can be made with cash or credit cards. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Amex.
Travel Insurance
Guests are kindly advised to arrange their travel insurance with their travel agency.
Protection in the marine environment - in and out of the water
The stinger season runs approx from October to May although there is a risk of stingers at any time of the year. MV Fantasea Ammarì provides complimentary stinger suits all year round for use by guests. Stinger suits cover full body, revealing only the lovely faces of our guests. Nautical Jargon
Your cruise is embodied with the language and traditions of Fantasea's long marine history. Join in a nautical dialogue with our crew and indulge in a little maritime romance during your voyage.
Aft - Rear of the vessel. Alongside - When vessel is beside wharf or another vessel. Amidship - In the middle of the vessel. Astern - Opposite of ahead (i.e. meaning something behind the ship). Backwash - Motion in the water caused by the propeller(s) moving a revers (astern) direction. Bar - Sandbar, usually caused by tidal or current conditions near the shore. Beam - Width of the vessel between its two sides at the widest point. Bearing - Compass direction expressed in degrees from the vessel to a particular objective or destination. Below - Anything beneath the main deck. Berth - Dock, wharf or quay. Also means bed on board ship. Bilge - Lowermost spaces of the infrastructure of a vessel. Bow - The forward most part of the vessel. Bridge - Navigational and command control centre. Bulkhead - Upright partition (wall) dividing the vessel into compartments. Bunkers - The space where fuel is stored, bunkering means taking on fuel. Chart - A nautical map used for navigating. Course - Direction in which the vessel is headed, in degrees. Davit - A device for raising and lowering lifeboats. Disembark - To leave a ship. Dock - Berth, wharf or quay. Draft - Measurement from the vessel's waterline to the lowest point of its keel. Embark - To join a vessel. Galley - The vessel's kitchen. Gross Tonnes - Not the weight of a vessel but the total volume measurement of all permanently enclosed spaces above and below decks with certain exceptions, such as the bridge, radio room, galleys, washing facilities and other specified areas. Helm - The apparatus for steering a vessel. Hull - The frame and body of the vessel exclusive of masts or superstructure. Leeward - The side of a vessel that is sheltered from the wind. Luff - The side of a vessel facing the wind. Manifest - A list of the vessel's passengers and crew. Master - Captain of the vessel. MV - Motor Vessel Nautical mile - One-sixtieth of a degree of the circumference of the Earth. Pilot - A person licensed to navigate vessels into or out of a harbour, or through difficult waters, and to advise the Captain on handling the vessel during these procedures. Port - The left side of a vessel when facing forward. Quay - Berth, dock or wharf. Rudder - A finlike device astern and below the waterline, for steering the vessel. Screw - A vessel's propeller. Stabiliser - A gyroscopically operated retractable "fin" extending from either or both sides of the vessel below the waterline to provide a more stable ride. Starboard - The right side of the vessel when facing forward. Stern - The aftmost part of the vessel that is opposite the bow. Tender - A smaller vessel used to transport passengers between vessel and shore when the vessel is at anchor. Wake - The track of agitated water left behind a vessel when in motion. Waterline - The line along the side of a vessel's hull corresponding to the water surface. Windward - The side of a vessel facing the direction in which the wind blows.
